CLAY –On August 10, a stolen red single cab 1990s model GMC pickup truck was driven in reverse through the front of a Clay tobacco store. Deputies say the truck had been stolen from a north Birmingham location and was later recovered in that general area.
The break-in occurred in the 2200 block of Brewster Road in Clay. The report stated that merchandise was stolen by the trash can loads.
According to Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama, the burglary was a “smash-in and bucket-grab” incident resulting in the theft of tobacco products.
Detectives, who say there at least two individuals involved, are seeking the identification of the suspects caught on surveillance cameras. If you have information regarding the incident or the suspects, please contact the Jefferson County sheriff’s office or Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama.
