TRUSSVILLE — The third annual National Night Out for Trussville is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Target parking lot off U.S. 11.
National Night Out is a national crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, and co-sponsored locally by the city of Trussville, Traget and Trussville Daybreak Rotary Club.
A press release urges Trussville residents to support the event by attending the event. There will be food and entertainment, as well as the opportunity to learn about safety in local neighborhoods.
The event is designed to bring more awareness to crime and drugs, as well as generate support for participation in local anti-crime efforts. Organizers would also like to see a strengthened neighborhood spirit with police and citizen partnerships. Another goal is to learn about disaster preparedness and prevention.
