TRUSSVILLE — The annual Oktoberfest Trussville event is scheduled for Oct. 10 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 8090 Gadsden Hwy. No admission will be charged.
The event features authentic German foods and live music,along with cakes and other sweets native to Germany. Games, rides and other activity areas will be available for young people to enjoy. There will also be door prizes given away, as well as a silent auction.
The event, hosted by volunteers at Holy Infant of Prague, will benefit a number of charities. Trussville Special Olympics, Independence House for young adults with disabilities, St Vincent de Paul Society and the Trussville Ecumenical Assistance Ministry (TEAM) are charities involved.
A food drive, sponsored by Birmingham Integrative Health, will help TEAM restock their pantry. A bag of canned good food items will be exchangeable for a “Father Bill Buck” good for a free beverage at the festival.
