BIRMINGHAM – What the Jimmie Hale Mission calls the most fun and creative way of giving back to the men, women, and children in their shelters is back for another year, according to a release from the organization.
The annual “Project Placemat” is back for the holidays, and the mission feels it can be a very fun and inexpensive way to give back to the community.
Anyone can participate by downloading a blank pdf copy of the place mat from the mission’s website. From there, readers can click on the ‘How to Help’ tab and then ‘Volunteer during he holidays’. Find the section titled ‘Holiday Placemat Project’ and get creative.
Color, decorate, even write inspirational message to let those in our shelter know that you are thinking of them.
Completed place mats will be distributed among our three shelters (Shepura Men’s Center, Jessie’s Place and Royal Pines) during the days leading up to the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays during each of the three meal times. Readers may even see his or hers on our social media sites acknowledging everyone for their participation.
All completed place mats can be mailed back to the Jimmie Hale Mission business office Attn: Holiday Placemats PO Box 10472 Birmingham , AL 35202.
