TRUSSVILLE – The Hewitt-Trussville basketball program is set to host a three-day tournament beginning on Saturday and concluding on Tuesday.
The boys and girls team will do battle in separate eight-team brackets that includes the Clay-Chalkville and Pinson Valley boys teams. Hewitt-Trussville is the only Tribune area girls team competing in the tournament.
Head coach Tony Hunter and the girls will begin play on Saturday night at 6 against Pelham. With a win, they would face the winner of Leeds-Briarwood on Monday at 5 p.m. A loss would pair them with the loser of Leeds-Briarwood on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Hewitt-Trussville’s boys will take the floor against Fayette County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The winner of that game will face the winner of Pinson Valley-Briarwood (4:30 tip-off) on Monday night at 6:30. The losers of those two games will face on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Head coach Jeremy Monceaux and the Clay-Chalkville boys start the tournament against Hueytown on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. That contest is paired with Oak Mountain-Minor, with winners playing on Monday at 5 p.m. and losers playing on Monday at 2 p.m.
Bryant Bank Thanksgiving Classic games will be played in both the upper and lower gym in Hewitt-Trussville High School.
