BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham police have arrested Tavalues Johnson, 22, and charged him with second degree robbery.
Johnson was arrested in connection with a robbery and assault of a 58-year-old woman at the Walmart located at 1600 Montclair Road, the victim was attacked by two black male suspects, and was dragged to the ground and pulled across the pavement sustaining injuries. Both suspects have now been charged and are in custody.
“Thanks to all the brave citizens that called in and gave us tips regarding the suspect’s identity and whereabouts. This is proof that our citizens are not afraid to get involved and their support is necessary when fighting crime,” Lt. Sean Edwards of the Birmingham Police Department said.
Johnson is being held on a $20,000 bond.
