In the second installment of the Alabama Sports Writer Association basketball poll, head coach Tonya Hunter and the Hewitt-Trussville girls team remain at No. 10 in the Class 7A rankings.
The Huskies hold a 9-3 mark in the 2015-16 season, coming off a, 78-36, win over Hueytown. They open 7A, Area 6 play on Jan. 5 when they host Spain Park at Bryant Bank Arena. Three days later, Hewitt-Trussville will be back in league play as they welcome Vestavia Hills.
In 6A girls action, Clay-Chalkville (6-3) remains just outside the ASWA rankings. The Cougars are also 2-0 in Area 12 play after downing Pinson Valley, 64-21, on Tuesday night. They started league play with a, 60-49, win over Center Point.
