ADAMSVILLE – The Jefferson County girls basketball Tournament has come and gone for Pinson Valley, but Clay-Chalkville still has a trophy to win.
The Cougars will battle Shades Valley on Friday night at Minor High School for the tournament title. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Clay-Chalkville advanced to the finals with a Wednesday night, 57-42, win over Minor in Round 2. Much like Shades Valley, they enjoyed a free pass in first round action.
Pinson Valley ended tournament play 1-1. They stumbled on Monday night against McAdory, but regrouped to down Hueytown on Wednesday night by a count of 42-35. The Indians get back to action on Saturday against Cordova in non-area play. Saturday’s game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Mike Dutton Gymnasium.
