BIRMINGHAM — The Cahaba River Society is hosting its annual Connect with the Cahaba meeting on Thursday, Jan. 28. The event is open to anyone interested in learning more about the Cahaba River and the society’s work to restore and protect the river.
The society helps residents, businesses and wildlife thrive in central Alabama by working to achieve good water quality, affordable and abundant drinking water, habitats that support healthy lives, well-educated citizens connected with their rivers and growth that does not degrade our natural water assets. Instead, it engages with them to spread quality of life and economic opportunity through all communities. With core values of education, collaboration, stewardship and integrity, the Cahaba River Society is a science-based expert resource and a partnership catalyst.
During the event, there will be interactive displays by society partners, as well as awards given out by the organization.
Dinner is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. with the program scheduled for 6:15 p.m. at the REV Birmingham’s SocialVenture, located at 5529 1st Ave. S. Birmingham. It is a free event for all.
