Two Bessemer men, sought in the murder of a Lipscomb man, were taken into custody early Tuesday afternoon.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Darnell Crawford, 44, and Edward Mack Jr.,39, for the capital murder of Abdul Malek Alsabahi.
Alsabahi, 52, was robbed and murdered at a home in the 5700 block of 14th Street South in Lipscomb on Aug. 1, 2015. It was determined by detectives that Alsabahi was operating an illegal gambling business.
Capital murder warrants were obtained by police on Jan. 28 after an investigation by the Lipscomb Police Department, assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Crawford and Mack were taken to the Jefferson County Jail where they remain without bond.
