Two suspects involved in a Mountain Brook home invasion are now in custody..
Late Wednesday afternoon, Irondale police attempted to stop a Nissan Maxima on a traffic violation near Beacon Drive. The suspects refused to pull over and a chase ensued.
Mountain Brook police were called in to assist, and discovered a crash a short time later on Shiloh Drive where the suspects crashed into another vehicle, injuring a woman.
Mountain Brook Police Chief Ted Cook said the suspects, two black males, fled on foot, entered a Mountain Brook home in the 4100 block of Sharpsburg Drive, then fled again in that victim’s vehicle, a silver Honda CRV.
The woman involved in the crash was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and no one was injured in the home invasion.
Both men were taken into custody overnight, and the stolen Honda CRV was recovered in Birmingham near the Gate City community.
According to Cook, the suspect’s names will not be released until warrants have been signed.
