For senior adults in Clay and surrounding communities looking for something fun to do, something that won’t pinch the pocketbook, and just a fun place to belong, the Clay Senior Activity Center fits the bill. With a fresh coat of paint and a bigger variety of things to do from playing cards
to shooting pool or just to hang out and socialize, city leaders want seniors in the area to know that the senior center welcomes them.
“We have a great senior center,” said Councilwoman Becky Johnson at a recent council meeting.
Johnson said a lot of work goes into keeping the center clean and looking nice.
“During Christmas break, we had the center painted, and they have finally opened their new addition up,” said Johnson. “They have exercise equipment, the pool table is being used again, and they have patio furniture.”
Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., Johnson says the only requirement is that attendees are 60 years old or older.
“You can even have lunch for $1.50, and it’s a great lunch,” Johnson said.
On Tuesday, March 1, the seniors will be meeting at the Clay Methodist Church due to the election.
