I’ll admit it, I am your typical guy when it comes to the car radio. I’m a channel flipper.
It’s crazy but, when I am in the car, if I am listening to a music station, and a song comes on that I really like, I will almost always flip through a few channels just to see if something better is on.
I have satellite radio in my car which has made things even worse. It’s tough to flip through 135 channels.
Most of the time, however, I don’t listen to music. I am a news / talk radio junkie, and this morning was a good day for talk radio. As so many others in the Birmingham area did, I decided to go straight to the source for official election information. Yes, I turned on Rick ‘N Bubba, the self-proclaimed Two Sexiest Fat Men Alive. (They’ve obviously never seen me in a Speedo, but that’s a topic of conversation for another day)
As I was listening, a caller to the show, trying to be funny I suppose, made the comment that, the best thing about going to vote was getting the little “I voted” sticker for your shirt.
While it is very important that people take advantage of the most powerful right that we have, it is about so much more than a sticker. Especially this year.
The incoming Commander in Chief will likely have more than one Supreme Court seat to fill, our national debt is out of control, national security is uncertain at best, and government spending is still way to high.
This election is much more important than a sticker, but I do hope you are wearing one.
