Trussville City Councilman Perry Cook has announced his plans to seek re-election for the Place 1 seat he currently holds.
Cook previously served on the Trussville Downtown Redevelopment Authority and the Trussville Planning and Zoning Board.
Currently, he is liaison to the Streets and Sanitation Department, the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, and the Industrial Development Board. He also works with Grow Trussville, an advisory committee, the purpose and objective of which includes the ongoing review of the business and commercial needs within the community, study of economic trends and cutting edge ventures, identification of business and commercial enterprises, promotion of the City’s strengths, and recommendation to the City Council on policies to establish an effective, responsive business atmosphere.
In addition to the work Cook does as an elected city official, he also serves on the Missions Board and previously on the Ministry Planning Committee at Trussville First United Methodist Church.
Cook has lived in Trussville with his family for more than 38 years.
“My goals as city councilman are to continue improving street and sanitation, traffic flow and our schools,” Cook said. “I want to complete the master plan for downtown Trussville. I also firmly believe as a councilman, it is my duty to be a good steward of public finances and revenues, and to continue to maintain our city’s current financial standing.”
