TRUSSVILLE — Spring break 2016 is turning out to be picture perfect for one of Trussville’s most anticipated events. Once again, Trussville residents and visitors from all around are coming to Magnolia Park for an afternoon of food, fun and rides as the spring carnival is officially underway.
Located just off of Chalkville Road next to First Baptist Church Trussville, the park has been transformed into a world of rides, activities and fun festival foods for young and old.
Sponsored by the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce, even families from other municipalities are making their way into town to enjoy the fun.
“We have been to this carnival the past couple of years,” said Sue Hill, a Homewood resident who was attending with her children and grandchildren on Tuesday afternoon. “You never get too old for a carnival and I just enjoy watching them have so much fun. Plus, I love the eating carnival goodies.”
The carnival will continue through the Sunday, April 3.
“The spring carnival is an annual event that is very popular and always well attended,” said Trussville Councilman Brian Plant at a recent city council meeting.
Wristbands are available to purchase for unlimited rides, and coupons are available for $1 off the price of the wristband at the Trussville Chamber, on the chamber’s website, and also in the Trussville Schools “In The Loop” publication. Individual tickets may also be purchased for $1 each. Some rides, however, do require more than one ticket.
On Wednesday, March 30, there will be a youth group discount promotion where groups of 10 or more can purchase wristbands for $10 each.
Carnival hours for Wednesday and Thursday are 5 to 9 p.m., Friday 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m., and Sunday, April 3, 1 to 5 p.m. Separate wristbands must be purchased for each shift on Saturday. Dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions.
