JEFFERSON COUNTY – Just before 11 a.m. yesterday, Jefferson County sheriff deputies patrolling Pratt Highway in the Sandusky community conducted a traffic stop for an improper turn near Pratt Highway and Elba Avenue. There were two men in the car.
According to a report from Jefferson County Chief Deputy Randy Christian, while speaking to the driver of the vehicle, deputies noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the car. The occupants of the car admitted to having smoked marijuana in the car earlier.
Deputies conducted a search of the car and discovered more than sixteen grams of heroin, prescription narcotic pills, digital scales and U.S. currency. The men were identified as brothers, 22-year-old Ronald Deion Hodge and 24-year-old Dimarcus Desean Hodge both of Birmingham. Ronald Deion Hodge was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. He posted $5000 bond and was released. Dimarcus Desean Hodge was arrested and charged with Trafficking Heroin. He posted $50,000 bond and was released.
