TRUSSVILLE – A Hewitt-Trussville senior is the recipient of a scholarship from the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC). The announcement was made at Awards Day held at Hewitt-Trussville High School on Thursday, April 28.
The scholarship was presented to Natalie Rollo, who will attend UAB this fall with plans to become a neurologist. Natalie has volunteered at various events throughout the city including the Maple Leaf Run, Trussville’s Art Show & Tasting Event, and the Blow Away 5K.
The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce is a proud supporter of Trussville City Schools. Each year, the chamber presents scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Natalie was awarded a $1,000 scholarship renewable for up to four years if she maintains a ‘B’ or better average.
The scholarship recipient was selected based on, among other things, academic achievement and community service. Applicants may also state on their application if they are the son or daughter of a chamber member or if they have served as a chamber ambassador, although neither is required. Recipients may use the scholarship at the college or university of their choice.
