TRUSSVILLE – A pair of Hewitt-Trussville football players picked up offers from UAB coach Bill Clark recently.
Defensive back/athlete David Acfalle collected an offer from the Blazers and running back Grayson Cash also got an offer from UAB, each on Monday.
The Blazers resume intercollegiate play in the fall of 2017 after the controversial decision to shut down the program after the 2015 season. Boosters since then persuaded the administration and the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees to resume the program after protests and rallies, and the raising of about $38 million by boosters, community leaders and businesses with no additional funds from the UA System.
The UA System BOT approved a new football facility, including practice fields, last week.
