TRUSSVILLE –Dining options in Trussville are expanding rapidly and each newcomer to the restaurant scene is touting “fresh” as their model cuisine.
Panera Bread, Jimmy John’s, and Zoe’s Kitchen – all known for their fresh food options – are in negotiations with Blackwater Resources to locate in the Homestead Village shopping center currently under construction on U.S. Highway 11. Fresh Market, Hobby Lobby, Petco, and Ulta are already confirmed as anchors in the project.
Homestead Village is slated to open in the Spring of 2017.
The most recent announcements to the Trussville dining scene are Casa Fiesta Mexican Grill and Chipotle Mexican Grill. Developers for both projects have appeared before the design review committee and received approval to advance their plans. They are currently in the demolition phase.
Chipotle, known for partnering with local farmers for ingredients, will be located at the corner of Edwards Lake Road and U.S. Highway 11, where a former Shell station and convenience store was located.
“We’re all about simple, fresh food without artificial flavors or fillers. Just genuine raw ingredients and their individual, delectable flavors. We source from farms rather than factories, and spend a lot more on our ingredients than many other restaurants,” Chipotle said on their website.
The Chipotle project is being led by Southeastern Retail Development and the project will include The Vitamin Shoppe and Mattress Firm stores, as well.
Casa Fiesta Mexican Grill will be opening their third Alabama location in the Pinnacle. The current locations are in Cullman and Fultondale. In addition to boasting “the best fajitas in town,” Casa Fiesta offers a wide selection of vegetarian dishes.
Neither of the two newest restaurants have announced an opening date as of yet.
