CENTER POINT –The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in Center Point on Monday night.
At about 7:15 p.m., deputies responded to a report of shots being fired in a parking lot in the 300 block of Polly Reed Road in Center Point, according to Sergeant Jack Self.
They arrived to find an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He has been transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Early information on the scene is that the two men were arguing in the parking lot when one of them pulled out a handgun and shot the other. The shooter remained on the scene and was taken into custody by deputies.
The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided as they become available.
