TRUSSVILLE – The Trussville Beautification Board held their annual contest on May 17, 2016.
There were 20 entries, and the winners were announced at the annual Freedom Fest on July 4. Categories included best landscape design, best turf, best use of color, best homeowner maintained, best business, and professionally maintained, for which there were no entries.
First place for best landscape design went to Vickie and Mack Franks on Lake Vista Drive, and second place wen to Jim and Jane Bailey on Legacy Lane.
First place for best turf went to John and Sally Payne on Memory Lane, and second place went to Lloyd Martin on Brentwood Avenue.
First place for best use of color went to Wendy Davis on Wimberly Drive, and second place went to Charles Nicholas on Calumet Circle.
First place for best homeowner maintained went to Bill and Cindy Nielson on Powell Place, and second place went to Don and Jan Evans on Nichols Way.
Winner of best business went to Carroll Pharmacy on North Chalkville Road.
Vickie and Mack Franks, John and Sally Payne and Charles Nicholas were also presented lifetime achievement awards.
“All our contestants work very hard at maintaining a beautiful yard and help keep Trussville looking beautiful,” Nina Orr, president of the Trussville Beautification Board, said.
