TRUSSVILLE –With hundreds of Trussville voters residing in St. Clair County, voting in Trussville’s municipal election in August means they will be using a different polling place than they normally use for a county, state or federal elections.
Trussville city clerk Lynn Porter said she took steps on Friday to clear up any confusion among those residents in regard to the upcoming municipal elections.
“There seems to be some confusion among some Trussville citizens who live in St. Clair County about voting in the upcoming election,” Porter said. “Because these voters regularly vote either at Argo City Hall or at White’s Chappell Community Building, and voting at city elections must take place within the city limits, some of these voters do not realize that they can vote in this election.”
Porter said wanted to make sure that those voters knew where they needed to go to cast their ballots for the mayoral and city council election on August 23.
“I mailed post cards to more than 700 voters yesterday, advising them of their polling place for city elections,” Porter said.
Any voters who still have questions about their polling place can call Trussville City Hall at 205-655-7478
