From The Trussville Tribune Staff Reports
TRUSSVILLE – Two local real estate agents have set out to turn Trussville blue on August 25.
The Sargent McDonald Team of Brik Realty is encouraging all schools, businesses and homeowners to show their support for law enforcement by turning everything blue. Citizens are encouraged to wear blue clothes, decorate the outside of business or getting creative showing support to the local police
department.
The first 150 people to stop by the Brik Realty office at 192 Main Street on August 15 can take a free blue mailbox bow to participate. Pickup is from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
“Kevin and I feel very passionate about showing our local Law Enforcement Officers just how much their community appreciates them,” said Christy McDonald. “Being the wife of a Lieutenant with Hoover Police Department, I know that the recent actions of just a few people have caused the officers to feel unappreciated and disheartened. We want our local police to know that their community loves, supports, and appreciates the sacrifices that they and their families make on a daily basis to keep our community and our families safe.”
McDonald and Sargent appeared before the Trussville City Council on Tuesday, and received the support of the council to turn Trussville blue on August 25.

Someone with time will need to start today by connecting with businesses. Making a Facebook event page would help get the word out as well.

We have 150 mailbox bows that anyone can come pick up starting Monday the 15th to put on individual mailboxes or doors. I would say form groups of people in your neighborhoods to put out on street signs or entrances. Need to make sure the board of education knows so they can do stuff @ schools if they want to. Please share this post and tag as many local businesses and organizations that you all know. Let’s make this huge!!!
The Trussville Tribune
The Tribune will be by Monday morning to pick up our bow!

My husband made these for a neighborhood in Gardendale. I will have 50 of these if anyone wants one. You can pick them up Friday the 19th at 9am and again at 5pm in the Amedisys Home Health parking lot in Trussville (behind Applebee’s) They can either hang from your mailbox from grommets or I will also have stakes $5.00 each double sided
