CLAY—During Monday night’s Clay City Council meeting, City Manager Ronnie Dixon reminded members of the community to vote in the upcoming municipal elections, which will determine who will fill Place 4 on the council. The elections are to be held on August 23, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Clay Community Center.
Dixon also announced a candidate forum, which will be held at the Grayson Valley Country Club at lunch on August 16. The forum will allow both candidates to introduce themselves to the community and to discuss their respective platforms.
At 7 p.m. on the same day, a separate “question-and-answer, debate-type forum” will be held for both the city of Pinson and the city of Clay, according to Dixon. The forum will be held the Rock School Center in Pinson, located at 4509 Pinson Boulevard.
Also during the meeting, the council unanimously approved two resolutions approving the removal of weeds at five addresses throughout the city.
The next Clay City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m.
