Special to The Trussville Tribune
TRUSSVILLE – Cahaba Elementary School is honored to announce its first annual Veteran’s Day Celebration.
Past and present military members are invited as special guests on Wednesday, November 9 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Military guests are asked to enter through the historic front porch doors, as the majority of the morning’s activities will take place in the lobby area in front of the school’s gorgeous library.
Veterans will be honored with a special performance by the talented CES Show Choir at 8:30. Students, faculty, and staff are submitting photos of their military family members to be acknowledged on a patriotic wall display. A QR code will be placed next to selected photos, and when activated by a smart phone, guests will be able to hear the student tell about his or her military family member.
Military guests are invited to take a tour of the historic school, guided by a PTO volunteer, as well as have a photo taken with their student family member in front of the fire place in the beautiful art room. Finally, military guests will receive a small token of appreciation for their service, dedication and sacrifice. Cahaba Elementary School sincerely appreciates members of the U.S. Armed Forces, and is privileged to honor them on Wednesday, November 9.
