BIRMINGHAM – The ice skating rink at Railroad Park will officially open November 25 at 10 a.m.
The rink, which is 50×70, is made of real ice and will be located on Railroad Park’s 17th Street Plaza.
The ice rink will be open through the holiday season until mid-January, seven days a week, including Christmas and New Years. The rink will be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Hours on Christmas Day and New Years Day will be noon to 8 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for a two-hour session, including skate rental. Group rates are available for 20 or more skaters at $8 a person. There is also a $50 punch card available good for seven skating sessions, a $65 season pass which will be good for unlimited season visits, or a family pass for $150, which offers unlimited family visits for families of up to six.
Tickets will be available at the rink, but the rink encourages advanced ticket purchase, as popular times may sell out in advance.
The rink will be booking holiday parties, birthday parties and other corporate gatherings while open. There will also be theme nights, like tacky sweater night, UAB Blazer night and more, which will be announced on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
