PINSON – For the Pinson Public Library, reading is the reason for the season. The library has a number of upcoming events to keep days merry and bright.
Santa will visit Candyland on Dec. 10 at noon. There will be a life-sized board game for the family to play together, and Santa will be waiting at the end to meet participants and take photos. The event is free and open to all ages.
Tweens and teens can visit the library Dec. 14 from 4-5 p.m. for a holiday hangout. Attendees can make custom hot cocoa concoctions and decorate cookies. The event is only open to those ages 10 and above.
Dec. 16 will be ugly sweater day, where all are encouraged to wear their old or new tacky sweaters to the library. Anyone who stops by in their tacky sweater can earn “sweater swag.”
There will also be a holiday safari with animal tales on Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. Audience members will select a present from under the Christmas tree, which will contain a clue, which corresponds to one of the surprise animal guests. The event will take place at the Pinson Community Center. All ages are welcome to attend.
Other events include a 3D printer demo on Dec. 7 from 4-5 p.m., story time for Growin’ Beans Dec. 9 at 10 a.m., coffee and coloring Dec. 14 from 10 a.m.-noon and Star Wars Fandom Friday on Dec. 16 from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
