CENTER POINT –At about 8 p.m. Thursday, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home in the 2200 block of 7th Street NE in Center Point to investigate a report of a person who had been shot.
Deputies arrived to find an adult male victim lying in the driveway suffering a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Information at the scene is that three males in a red sedan pulled up in front of the house. Shots were fired from inside the car. The victim was struck one time.
Detectives questioned the victim, concluding that he was involved in a drug deal and was shot while getting out of the suspect’s vehicle.
The victim has not identified anyone involved.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Office at 325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 254-7777.

That was the sub-division we lived in growing up when we went to Centercrest. So sad!
