TRUSSVILLE –Hewitt-Trussville and Pinson Valley continued their unbeaten streak on Friday night and Clay-Chalkville joined them with a win in the first round of the AHSAA state championship playoffs.
The Huskies topped Spain Park 33-21 to move to 11-0 on the season. Hewitt-Trussville will host Hoover High School in the second round of the AHSAA 7A playoffs.
The Indians took down Florence 45-20 while improving to 11-0 for the year. In round two of the AHSAA 6A playoffs, Pinson Valley will host Ramsay next Friday night in Willie Adams Stadium.
The Cougars dominated Athens for a 21-0 shutout win in round one. Next up for 9-2 Clay-Chalkville is a road trip to 10-1 Homewood for round two of the 6A playoffs.
All games are scheduled for Friday with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
