From the Trussville Tribune staff reports
A 66-year-old woman is dead from a shooting that happened in Eastern Valley on Friday night, Carol Robinson reports. Police say that the shooter was the victim’s 62-year-old brother.
The victim was Janice Hopkins Stamps, and her brother, Tommy Hopkins, told deputies he shot her with a handgun because she was yelling at him. Hopkins was taken into custody and charged with murder.
“I can’t think of too much that’s sadder than a brother killing his sister the day after Thanksgiving,” Chief Deputy Randy Christian told Robinson. “It just doesn’t make sense.”
