BIRMINGHAM — Detectives with the Birmingham Police Department are investigating a Monday shooting that left one Birmingham man dead, according to Lt. Sean Edwards with BPD.
The incident occurred in 2800 block of 32nd Place SW. The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Marlon Hale.
On Monday around 10 p.m., officers from the West Precinct responded to the listed location on a male shot in the leg. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who was lying on the floor in the living room suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and transported the victim to UAB hospital.
According to the victim, two suspects, one wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans and the other wearing a grey sweat shirt, came into his residence and made him lay on the floor.
One of the suspects then shot the victim in the leg. The victim stated that the suspects did not take anything but ran out the house once they shot him. A couple of hours later, the lead detective was notified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office stating the victim had died from his injuries.
