HOOVER — A teenage victim who was killed in a shooting Tuesday night at a Hoover apartment complex has been identified, according to Carol Robinson.
18-year-old Tyric Toodle was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office Wednesday.
Around 7:15 Tuesday night Hoover police received a call telling of a shooting at the Elevation Hoover apartment complex on Little Valley Road. Once they arrived authorities found Toodle in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
“We believe this was not a random shooting and that the suspect and victim likely knew each other,” said Hoover police Capt. Gregg Rector in a statement. “The shooter (or shooters) also fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.”
According to Rector anyone who has information on the case should call Detective Drew Mims at 205-739-7274 or the Hoover Police Department at 205-822-5300.
Anyone with information may also call Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
