SPRINGVILLE — The Springville Tigers boys basketball team (13-5) fell to Southside (4-8) by a score of 45-23 Thursday night at Springville High School.
The Panthers of Southside used patient, efficient offense to pick apart the Springville zone, while also holding Springville to multiple one-shot possessions on the defensive end.
Three-point shooting also played a major role in the upset victory as Southside buoyed their lead with an onslaught of outside scoring, complimented well by consistent inside scoring from the post.
Devin Laster scored 12 points for the Panthers, leading the scoring, all from three-point territory.
The Springville girls fell to Southside 55-44.
