Inmate found dead, former resident of Center Point, Moody

JEFFERSON COUNTY –An inmate was found dead in his cell on Sunday at at the Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, according to officials at the Alabama Department of Corrections. An investigation into his death is underway.

Jeramy Melvin Leslie

Jeramy Melvin Leslie, 32, was found unresponsive in his cell around 10:30 a.m. He was pronounced dead at 10:42 a.m.

Leslie was convicted of a robbery in Jefferson County in 2013 and was serving a 15-year sentence. He had formerly lived in Center Point and Moody, according to Carol Robinson.
