17-year-old girl killed in crash

PICKENS COUNTY — A single-vehicle crash late Thursday night has claimed the life of a 17-year-old Gordo girl, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
According to troopers the driver sustained serious injuries after her vehicle, a 2012 Hyundai Elantra, hit a tree after leaving the roadway.
The wreck occurred near mile marker 216 on Highway 17 around 10 p.m. about five miles north of Reform.
She was taken to DCH hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries . The victim’s name has yet to be released.
