From The Trusville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE – Three people were arrested yesterday by officers from the Trussville Police Department after a search of their residence resulted in police finding narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
TPD Detective Mike Bruce said that the case has been in the works for some time.
“We have a lot of background in investigative work with the narcotics unit,” he said. “They’ve been investigating this case for some time to collect evidence sufficient enough to get a warrant. They were able to get it early and we elected to serve it yesterday morning. They’ve been interested in this case for several weeks now.”
Detectives from the department along with TPD’s Special Response Team obtained a search warrant for the 100 block of Meadow Lane Court. There they found methamphetamine, prescription pills and “numerous items of drug paraphernalia”.
Those arrested were Zachary Adam Mackey, 36 of Trussville, Nichole Stinson Mills, 41 of Trussville and Claude Leon Toney, 42 of Wilsonville. All three were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of paraphernalia. They are being held at the Trussville Jail and will be transferred to the county jail.
Mackey and Mills have a $1,300 bond. Toney has a $5,300 bond.
