Blake Ryan Smith went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2018. He was born on July 31, 1997.
Blake loved the Lord and accepted Him as Savior on March 15, 2011. He answered the call to preach and was pursuing that calling at the Crown College of the Bible in Powell, Tennessee.
He often preached at Mountain View Baptist Church where he grew up and taught the 4th through 6th grade boys Sunday School class when he was home from college. Blake was an avid witness for Jesus Christ, sharing the gospel wherever he went. His faithfulness to the Lord was demonstrated in the Christian fruits that he bore.
We are comforted by the certainty that Blake is in a better place and by our faith that we will see him again.
Blake was predeceased by his great grandmother, Velma Decker; great grandfather, Ed Decker; and great grandmother, Mary Virginia McCollum.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Kim Smith of Trussville; his sister, Brittany (Andrew) Fittis of Birmingham; his grandparents, Ben and Jean Brasher of Birmingham; grandfather, Ken Buck of San Rafael, California; grandparents, Fred and Sue Smith of Trussville; aunts and uncles, Jill and Greg Williams, Julie and Scott Nilsen, Kayla and Adam Hagood, Gwen Wheeler, Russell Smith, and a host of cousins.
