Hoops teams head into subregional play in 6A

Center Point hosted Cullman and Clay-Chalkville, who traveled to Brewer as Class 6A state subregional play began on Monday. Winners headed to Jacksonville for the Northeast Regionals. Results were not available at press time.

The boys subregionals were set to begin Tuesday.

Cullman was to travel to Pinson Valley and Center Point traveled to Albertville. The Clay boys fell 33-29 to Center Point as their season ended last week. Pinson beat Center Point 73-58. Winners head to the Northeast Regionals. Results were not known at press time.

Hewitt-Trussville’s girls beat Grissom 67-59 to punch their ticket to the Northeast Regionals in Class 7A.

The boys season ended with a 58-41 loss to Gadsden City.
