TRUSSVILLE — Dancers Against Cancer will hold a gala in March to raise funds to support patients with cancer and to help raise awareness of the disease. The event will be held at the Trussville Civic Center.
Described as a family-friendly event, the gala will have dinner, a silent auction and a dance showcase by local youth. All proceeds from the gala will go to Dancers Against Cancer and UAB Neuro Oncology.
“Dancers Against Cancer is a national organizaton that provides financial assistance to those in need in the dance community,” said Emily Lombardo, a member from Trussville. “UAB Neuro Oncology is committed to improve treatment options for brain cancer patients.”
Lombardo said that each dancer in the showcase will perform a dance to honor someone who has fought cancer or currently has it.
“It’s going to be a special night,” she said. “And it’s going to be very meaningful for the dancers and the honorees.”
More information can be found at imadanceragainstcancer.org.
