Clay-Chalkville picked up a pair of baseball wins last week before seeing its Monday game with Mortimer Jordan postponed due to the threat of inclement weather. The result of scheduled game Tuesday with Center Point was not available at press time.
The Cougars whipped Minor 13-4 as Connor Miles went 2-for-4 with four RBIs.
Clay blanked Locust Fork 18-0 as Michael Kilgore and Tristan Walton combined for a two-hit shutout. Connor Miles was 4-for-5 with four RBIs for the Cougars and Ashton Kincaid was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs.
The Clay JV beat Locust Fork 18-4 and CCMS ralleid to beat Oak Grove 17-16 after trailing 11-0 in the second inning to win in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Pinson Valley: The Indians beat Minor 7-2 and dropped two games to Homewood, 11-0 and 7-3. The Indians lost a tough one to Pell City 7-0. They are scheduled to play Gardendale this week twice.
Springville: The Tigers (12-3) are on a seven-game winning streak. They beat Corner 6-5, 16-13 and 15-5, to go 3-0 in the area, then topped Moody 14-4 and Oneonta 10-9.
Their Tuesday game with Coosa Christian was canceled. The Tigers are scheduled to face Gadsden City in Gadsden on Thursday.
