JEFFERSON COUNTY —Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting that occurred at the McDonald’s Chapel community.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at the 5500 block of Mexico Avenue before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. They learned that an adult male and female were sitting on the front porch of the residence when three suspects arrived in a white Chevrolet Impala. One of the suspects got out and fired shots at them before getting back inside.
Afterwards the car fled the scene. Both of the victims were taken to area hospitals to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. A motive for the shooting has not been determined yet and deputies continue to investigate the incident.
