BIRMINGHAM — A security guard who allegedly shot a man following an altercation has been charged with attempted murder, according to Carol Robinson. The incident took place outside a Homewood Walmart yesterday morning.
Anthony Lamont Winston, 34, of Birmingham was charged after allegedly shooting a man in the upper torso. The man was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries and was later released.
Hoover Police responded to the scene and took Winston in to be interviewed. Police said that he was not trying to prevent a crime when the shooting took place.
Winston was taken to the Jefferson County Jail with bond of $15,000.
