TRUSSVILLE – On April 25, the Trussville City Council appointed Trussville resident Mark Sims to the TCS Board of Education.
Mr. Sims will replace Sid McNeal as a Board Member. Mr. McNeal has served as a Board Member since 2009 and has filled the position of Board President for the last two years. Mr. McNeal will complete his service on May 25, 2018 at which time Mr. Sims will join the Board of Education.
Mark Sims, a 30-year Stryker veteran, is the Director of Sales Development for Stryker’s Instrument Division. He spent 22 years selling; six of those were spent as a Regional Manager for Surgical and Navigation Business Units. He has been in his current position for eight years. Mark’s responsibilities include new hire training and development opportunities for the Instrument sales force. Additionally, he coordinates regional manager development programs, presentation skills, and programs for aspiring regional managers.
Sims and his wife, Jill, have three children, one of which attends Hewitt-Trussville Middle School.
“We are pleased to have him,” he said. “He is just a dynamic individual and we are delighted to have him agree to serve on our school board for the next five years.”
Dr. Pattie Neill commended the Trussvile City Council for their diligence in filling McNeal’s expired seat.
