TRUSSVILLE — Three Hewitt-Trussville Middle School students placed in the middle school division of Southern Museum of Flight’s juried student art exhibition.
According to the Southern Museum of Flight’s website, applicants were to submit an art theme of works from the following categories: Pioneers and early hero’s; The Great War and the Golden Age; and Race for Space and Beyond.
Other specifications mentioned in the exhibition requirements included the use of either paint, colored pencils or pen and ink in the media choice; the use of no more than three to four colors used in the work; no larger than 30” x 36”; and on poster board or canvas.
Sixth-graders Kennedy Rose Kimbrough & Hannah Robson and their families were there to accept their 1st & 2nd place awards at the reception Saturday, May 5.
Eighth-grader Elizabeth Self won 3rd place.
The student’s artwork was displayed in the exhibition at the Birmingham Southern Museum of Flight from April 10th through May 5th.
