Scott will play a new character who will be partnered with Wayans.
Deadline.com reported the Warner Bros. TV chose not to pick up the option on Crawford’s contract due to on-set behavior and a strained relationship with cast members, including co-star Damon Wayans.
Crawford congratulated his former co-workers on the news of the renewal and wished them well in a statement on social media.
“To my cast and crew – CONGRATULATIONS on season 3! To the Fans – Thank you for the overwhelming support and love,” Crawford said via Instagram. “Riggs was a dream role and the experience will live with me forever. My heart is full. Good Luck next season!!”
