BIRMINGHAM — An unidentified man and a pregnant woman were shot today at the Collegeville public housing community in north Birmingham, according to Carol Robinson. In an unrelated incident that took place at the same time, a mother and daughter were hit by a car outside a McDonald’s in Birmingham following a dispute.
The shooting took place at the 3000 block of 32nd venue North in Birmingham between 2:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Both were taken to a hospital but their conditions are not yet known. Police continue to investigate.
In another incident that happened at the same time, a mother and daughter were taken to a hospital following a dispute that ended with both of them being hit by a car, according to Carol Robinson. The mother’s injuries are said to be life-threatening.
The incident took place this afternoon at around 2:30 p.m. when a woman was seen spitting on an occupied car in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in Birmingham. The car then hit her and her daughter before it struck another car.
Lt. Pete Wiliston from the Birmingham Police Department said that no suspects have been brought in. He said that currently the only description of the vehicle was that it was a red car.
