BIRMINGHAM — An accident that killed three A.H. Parker High School students in April is believed to be the result of drag racing, as well as alcohol and drugs, according to a report by Carol Robinson.
On April 29, the three teenagers were traveling on Green Springs Highway at Lakeshore Drive when the vehicle collided with a utility pole, causing the engine to catch fire. The teens who were killed were identified as Joshua Tyrek Lang, 18; Micheal Dewayne Davis, 17; and Jamorial Devonte Seay, 18.
As the investigation continues, authorities now believe that the driver of the vehicle – who has not yet been named – may have been drag racing. The driver may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol. A toxicology report was made but it will not be released until the investigation is completed.
Evidence will be presented to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office to determine if anyone will face criminal charges.
