JEFFERSON COUNTY — A Pinson Valley High School student has been charged with sexual torture in an incident not related to the school, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Nicholas Cameron McCloy, 16, is alleged to have sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl. The sheriff’s office reported that school resource officers were called to PVHS to respond to a complaint by a school staff who told them that the suspect had sexually assaulted a child.

The resource officers then contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators reviewed the information and then interviewed the victim and the suspect. The suspect, identified as McCloy, confessed to the offense and was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
Yesterday, he was formally charged as an adult with two counts of sexual torture “due to the age of the victim and force used by the suspect.” He remains at the jail on a $500,000 bond.
Nicholas Cameron McCloy is the son of Nicholas Carson McCloy, 35, of Pinson who was charged with the sexual abuse of a child less than 12 and first-degree sodomy in 2013.
According to court records, the elder McCloy pleaded guilty in 2014.
