BIRMINGHAM — Officers from the Birmingham Police Department are investigating the death of a man in a car found in an Ensley neighborhood.
At 7:44 a.m. on Wednesday morning, officers from the West Precinct were dispatched to investigate a car stopped in the 3200 block of Avenue D. The car had been seen by locals earlier at 4 a.m. though no commotion was reported.
A 33-year-old black male, identified as Jamal Davis, was found inside with the airbag deployed. Authorities said that he had been shot in the head. According to the report, the vehicle that Davis was in appeared to hit a tree and rolled back.
Davis’ death is being investigated as a homicide.
