BIRMINGHAM — Shots were reported being fired in a neighborhood in east Birmingham after officers from the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force tried to apprehend an attempted murder suspect, according to Carol Robinson.
The gunfire took place on Wednesday at the 500 block of Orchid Road off Five Mile Road in Birmingham. Officers from the task force located the suspect, who then fled and a chase began.
Shots were fired, though no injuries by gunfire have been reported. Officers from the Birmingham Police Department, deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals and ATF agents were on the scene.
The suspect is still at large and is considered to be dangerous.
